Time, Bob Dylan & Old school thoughts

As I sit here and am listening to some Bob Dylan and I am just baffled as to how I missed out on Bob Dylan all these years? I remember one time when I was in College and one of the guys in my apt bldg was throwing out a bunch of Records, and I caught him as he was tossing out this giant pile of Dylan Records (This was about the time CD’s had first come out.) Anyways, I ran up and asked for all of them, (I was thinking resale at the time…) he gave them to me and I remember listening to some of them and thinking, ok this is ok? I wasn’t too impressed. So they just sat at the back of my collection since then. And about five or six years ago I suddenly had this thought that I should listen to Bob Dylan, well my turntable was stored away, and anyways it was all about MP3’s these days. So I went and d-loaded a bunch of Dylan and ever since then I am just blown away by this old Drug addict!  He sometimes reminds me of an adopted child of Lou Reed and Iggy Pop.  Sometimes I think the thing that blows me away the most is that he is still around?

I often wonder if other people have had such a long ”delayed” reaction to Dylan?
